Toastmasters is an International, Educational Non-Profit Organization,” whose mission is Communication Excellence. We strive to make effective oral communication a worldwide reality. More than four million people, worldwide, have been a member of the Toastmasters organization since it inception in 1924.
Harold Usher joined Toastmasters, through Thames Valley Toastmasters Club 3726, in London, Ontario, CANADA, on November 20, 1984. That started a whole new dimension and series of events and direction to his life – learning, honing and utilizing his communication, leadership and interpersonal relation skills, to heights that he would not have ventured into or achieved otherwise.
He has been and continues to be active today after climbing through the ranks to District Governor (1990-1) and International Director (1992-4). He won the Toastmaster of the Year in 1988 and the President of the Year that same year after serving his first of many subsequent years as Club President of Thames Valley Toastmasters Club.
He has mentored many people and started several Toastmasters Clubs during those years as a member, the first being London Talbot Toastmasters Club 6751 which he started in October 1987. His most recent Club which he started was London City Hall Toastmasters Club 918925. He has encourages more than 1000 people to visit Toastmasters since he started.
Today is an active member of two Clubs, namely Thanes Valley Toastmasters Club which he considers his home Club and the London City Hall Toastmasters Club which he is President of. He is also the Credentials Chairman for his District 86.
It goes without saying that Toastmasters is an essential part of Harold's life his lifestyle.
